Now that the dust has settled…

…literally and figuratively (Note to self: get a Swiffer for the new place) it’s time to get down to business. Again with the paperwork, resume, statments, etc. This time though, I’m not doing them with such urgency because I finally have the big blue packet! Oh yeah…*insert cabbage patch here* But alas, I have 7 days until the first round of paperwork is due so I have to get cracking on that soon or else…

But first, let’s discuss what is inside this big blue thang a.k.a. beacon of hope, the holy grail for all Peace Corps hopefuls, the cherry on top, the finish line…it’s like on Jersey Shore, when the Sitch takes one last look in the mirror before he heads out to fist pump the night away and he sees nothing but pure, unadulterated awesomeness…it’s like that. (Really guys, it’s that bad. It’s one of those you-can’t-sympathize-unless-you’ve-been-through-the-process kind of a thing so bare with me, I promise the excitement is subsiding). ANYWAY, here’s what you’ll find:

  • Your Assignment Booklet
  • Volunteer Handbook
  • Another, much smaller Volunteer Handbook
  • A handbook for family and friends (to be given to my mama)
  • An official letter on special paper congratulating and welcoming you, etc.
  • Five, tabbed file folders with Passport and Visa Info, Resume and Personal Papers, Finance and Insurance, and Domestic Connection documents. Within each tab are forms upon forms, yaddi yaddi yadda…

And then if all goes well, then I’m on my way to MOROCCO!
